Before You Begin

  • A Smart Sequence account (free trial available)
  • A clear idea of what you want to automate
  • 5 minutes of uninterrupted time

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Log In to Your Dashboard

Access your Smart Sequence account and navigate to the main dashboard. If you don't have an account yet, sign up for a free trial.

Pro Tip: Bookmark your dashboard URL for quick access
2

Navigate to Workflow Builder

Click on 'Workflow Builder' in the left sidebar or use the quick action button on your dashboard to create a new workflow.

Pro Tip: You can also press Ctrl+N (Cmd+N on Mac) to create a new workflow
3

Choose a Template or Start Fresh

Select from our library of pre-built templates for common use cases, or start with a blank canvas for complete customization.

Pro Tip: Templates are great for learning - you can always modify them later
4

Configure Your Trigger

Every workflow starts with a trigger. Choose what event should start your automation - a schedule, webhook, form submission, or manual trigger.

Pro Tip: Start with a manual trigger for testing, then switch to automatic triggers
5

Add Your First Action

Drag an action block onto the canvas and connect it to your trigger. Configure what should happen - send an email, update a record, call an API, etc.

Pro Tip: Keep your first workflow simple - you can add complexity later
6

Test Your Workflow

Use the built-in testing feature to run your workflow with sample data. Check the execution logs to verify everything works correctly.

Pro Tip: Always test with realistic data to catch edge cases
7

Deploy and Monitor

Once testing is complete, activate your workflow. Monitor the execution dashboard to track performance and catch any issues early.

Pro Tip: Set up email alerts for failed executions

Congratulations!
